Statement from the Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China on the 19th Regional Kendo Championships
Hong Kong, China, 1 September 2026
The 19th Regional Kendo Championships, organised by the Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China (the “Association”), was held as scheduled at Lei Yue Mun Sports Centre on 29 and 30 August 2026, with athletes from across the region competing over the two days. The championships ran to schedule and concluded successfully.
Athletes who sustained injuries during the event received medical attention. The Association extends its best wishes to them for a full and speedy recovery.
President Wong Po Kit of the Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China said: “The wellbeing of our athletes is always our first concern. We are pleased that the championships concluded successfully, and our thoughts are with those recovering from their injuries.”
As with all of its events, the Association will conduct a post-event review as part of its standard practice.
