20250415 Update Announcement:
1.New applicants are required to be present for the exam on 27th April. New licence applicants including: a. New applicant。 b. Promoting to next coach level c. those who have possessed coach licence in the past but missed the coach exam in 2021 /2022
2. Renewal applicants are not required to be present for the exam on 27th April and hand in written exam answer, but only need to attend one kendo seminar hosted by Kiyono Shinobu sensei (Kyoshi 8 Dan) on 18th/19th/20th April. If unable to attend, the applicant must attend the next designated Kendo seminar; otherwise, they will not be renewed license.      Renewal applicants inclduing:   a. coach licence holders from 17 Oct 2021)  b. coach licence holders from 1Oct 2022)
3.The time for the 8th Kendo Coach Examination is as follows. Please arrive on time.Date: 27th April 2025 (Sunday)Location: Tung Po-Dancing StudioAddress: No. 2, Tsat Po Street, San Po Kong, Wong Tai Sin, KowloonExam Time: 17:00 – 21:00
4. The application form has been updated to include seminar options.
5.Written exam questions have been uploaded.(Applicable only to new license applicants. Renewal applicants do not need to submit.)

7.HKKA will arrange a half-day first aid course for coach certificate applicant including renewal and date to be confirmed; in case the applicant is unable to attend, the applicant will then be required to apply, complete the first aid course (named “Introduction to First Aid Course” organized by Hong Kong St. John Ambulance) by themselves and submit relevant proof or certificate. All coach certificate applicant including renewal must complete the first aid course, to be entitled to receiving the Coach certificate issued by the Association. Only holders of the valid Coach certificate will be invited by the Association to coach in all the Kendo classes organized by the Association. This coach certificate will be valid for 3 years (from 27th April 2025 to 26th April 2028). After obtaining the coaching qualification, candidates must attend 12 to 15 local kendo seminars within the three-year validity period of the coaching license.
