FY2026 Asian Kendo Referee Seminar

Dear Members and Affiliate Members,

The FY2026 Asian Kendo Referee Seminar will be held in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea from 7^th to 8^th November, 2026. Applications are now open. Please find the event details below:

Event Details

• Date: 7^th (Saturday) to 8^th (Sunday) November, 2026
• Venue: Gyeonggido Kendo Training Center
• Address: 23 Bonghwa-ro, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do
• Quota: Maximum 10 participants (Priority will be given to higher-Dan applicants. Applicants must hold a valid Coaching License issued by The Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China.)
• Eligibility:
• Members and Affiliate Members of The Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China holding 5 Dan or above
• Referee candidates for the 20th World Kendo Championships (20WKC)

 Subsidy & Travel Arrangements

• Subsidy Amount: Approved participants will receive a subsidy of HKD $2,000 from the Association.
• Disbursement: On a reimbursement basis. Upon completion of the event, participants must submit a report alongside original receipts (photocopies will not be accepted) to the Association for verification before the subsidy can be released.
• Flight & Ground Transportation:
• Approved participants must arrange their own flights and transportation between the airport and the hotel.
• [Official Transportation Arrangement] Shuttle transportation between the accommodation and the venue will be provided for participants staying at the designated official hotel. Detailed information will be provided via email upon confirmation of selection.
• Receipt Validity Period: Submitted receipts must be dated between 5^th and 9^th November, 2026 (Departure can be up to 2 days prior to the event, and the return date must be within 1 day after the event).
• Travel Insurance: Approved participants must purchase their own travel insurance. The insurance premium is included in the HKD $2,000 subsidy (on an actual expense basis), and proof of insurance must be presented to the Association for reimbursement.

Application Procedure

Interested members please reply via email to state your intention to participate and specify your current Dan grade on or before 10:00 AM on 28^th September, 2026 (Monday).

Upon review, the Association will individually send a confirmation notification and the International Kendo Federation (FIK) registration link to successful candidates, who will then be instructed to submit their formal application. The Executive Committee reserves the right of final decision on all applications and subsidies.
