12/8-13/8 16th Regional Kendo Championship and "1-5 Dan Kendo Examination"

We are pleased to announce that 16th Regional Kendo Championship and 1-5 Dan Kendo Examination will be held on 12 Aug and 13 Aug at ELCHK Lutheran Academy.

1-5 Dan Kendo Examination

Date: 12th August 2023 (Saturday)

Time: 10:00am -18:00pm

16th Regional Kendo Championship

Date: 13th August 2023 (Sunday)

Time: 10:00am -18:00pm

The Championship Categories:

Women's 3-member Team Event:

i)  No Dan to 1 Dan

ii)  2 Dan or 5 Dan

Men's 5-member Team Event:

iii)  No Dan to 2 Dan

iv)  3 Dan to 6 Dan

Requirement

Local participants are required to participate in the training of the Hong Kong squad team at least twice or more, and participate in the selection at the following time.

i)            7/18 Tue 9:30 - 10:30pm

ii)          7/23 Sun 11:30-12:30pm

iii)        7/25 Tue 9:30 - 10:30pm

iv)        7/30 Sun 11:30 - 12:30pm

Local participants are required to join the Hong Kong squad team training, which will commence on July 16th and until last date before the tournament. This also includes:

i)            On Tuesdays, at Queen Elizabeth Stadium (QE), training for the tournament will be held from 9:30-10:30pm after jigeiko.

ii)          On Sundays, at Queen Elizabeth Stadium (QE), training for the tournament will be held from 11:30-12:30pm after godo geiko

iii)        On Tuesdays or on Sundays when venue is other than Queen Elizabeth Stadium (QE), we will focus only on the training for squad members, other HK members will not participate. 

iv)        Queen Elizabeth Stadium (QE) on Tuesdays 7:00-8:30pm and on Sundays 8:30-10:30am only squad members will participate.

v)          training will consist in kihon, wazas and shiai practice. 

vi)        Coaches will select the team members depending on their skills, shiai results, attendance and general attitude. 

Please be reminded that the registration deadline is on 13^th July, and all entry fees and examination fees must be settled by 13^th July. It is important to note that all registration forms must be submitted through your dojo representative, and email to hkkendo@yahoo.com.hk

Additionally, for those who will pay via Alipay, kindly note that a 1.5% administration fee must be added to the total of $203 HKD.
